POUR
I layed down in the grass the other day and asked God for direction
I had a pen in my hand that started to write
With purposeful perfection it said
Pour some out before you put more in
Pour just a little bit out before you put any more in
Then you left me half empty, or so I thought
My eyes were much bigger than my insides
And I was asking for more
Asking for more, so you said it again
Pour some out before you put more in
Pour just a little bit out before you put any more in
I wanted to tell you, I wanted to show you
I wanted to know you a little bit more
So I walked down the road there before me
And I asked, why do you adore me so?
I don't deserve this
Pour some out before you put more in
Pour just a little bit out before you put any more in
You answered my cry when you said everything dies
If it doesn't have anywhere to go, so I took that and I let it all flow
And then I poured some out before putting more in
Pour just a little bit out before you put anymore in
